Mumbai: Amidst the growing aspirations of car customers, Tata Motors has launched the all new Vista 90. Though the new model is branded Indica, the first indigenously developed passenger car in the country, Vista D90 has little similarity with Indica.

What makes Vista D90 different from Indica? Ratan Tata, the former chairman of Tata Motors, once stated that the new Vista is the sum total of all the technological excellence acquired by Tata Motors over the years. Built on a new platform, it is the first of its kind with a combination of the cutting edge technology from the Fiat and the experience of  the Tatas in the Indian automobile industry. The new hatchback is powered by 1.3L Fiat sourced diesel engine and claims a  mileage of 21.12 kmpl.

Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicle Unit said at the launch that Tata Motors developed their cars around the evolving car customers, matching the products with the demanding needs and growing aspirations of the customers. He added that the Tata Vista D90 truly fitted into their fast-changing lifestyles with its dynamic and sporty looks, its powerful yet refined power train, technology-packed features, and luxurious and spacious interiors. All these features make Vista D90 the most premium hatch in its class.

Yadav emphasised that Tata Motors remains firmly committed to developing new products across their entire range and the group will continue to set new benchmark with first-in-class features, designed to meet the requirements of Indian car buyer. The powerful hatch generates 90 PS with the help of the same quadrajet engine which one may also find in Manza from Tata motors, Fiat Lienia, Maruti SX 4 and Ertiga.

Design    : With the VX variant, the new Vista D90 has been escalated from its popular family hatch to Sedan class facilities. The main changeover is that Vista D90 also has the new styled front grille and bumper as that of Manza. This change alone grants a Vista premium look.

Made for the young and trendy user, the new avatar from Tata comes out with new sporty front and rear bumpers, lavish chrome pack, aerodynamic spoiler, triple barrel headlamps, infinity contrast roof and 2-tone alloy wheels. Chromium inserts are found in body colour rub rails and door hands. These features add vigour to the exterior making the Tata Vista D90 a sporty and stylish hatch.

Interiors    : Finishing has improved a good deal. Dashboard and door panels are in soft feel finish. Other convenient features like 2-way adjustable 4-spoke steering wheel, 6-way height adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, intelligent rear wiper, electrically adjusted ORVMs, all 4 power windows, rear charging point and follow-me-home headlamps, provide an entertaining and comfortable driving experience in the Tata Vista D90.

Another cutting-edge technology is the advanced driver information system and fuel computer. A small digital screen provides an instant update on mileage, average fuel consumption, distance-to-empty, ambient temperature and a digital clock.

State-of-the-art technologies like touch screen multimedia  with a multi-colour TFT interface and an in-built GPS System, combines the entertainment, navigation and communication equipments have been incorporated in the model. The touch screen comes with a multi-media DVD player and Blue5 technology-pair up to 5 mobile phones through Bluetooth connectivity.

The premium hatchback promises a thrilling driving experience with the internationally acclaimed 90 PS Quadrajet diesel engine. The engine uses a revolutionary VGT technology, which optimises engine performance at all speeds, resulting in faster throttle response with 200NM Torque and fuel economy of 21.12 KMPL. Gear ratio has been organised in line with the driving suitable for cities.
