aim-in-01The Apple iPad mini price in India has been revealed by the company as the device finally goes on sale officially in the country. We reported just yesterday that it we would see something official soon, and here it is, available for purchase. Unveiled in October this year, it was soon sold out after it went up for pre-order.
The device can be picked up in storage capacities including 16GB, 32GB and 64GB options and also comes in Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants. It was announced that both types would find their way to us, and now we have confirmation from Apple’s India PR that the Wi-Fi version and the Wi-Fi + Cellular model are both available in the country.

It features an iSight camera on the rear panel with auto focus, face detection and backside illumination. This snapper takes 5MP photos and can record videos in 1080p HD resolution with video stabilization for better, shake-free capture. Making sure things run smoothly is a dual core A5 processor.
What customers will see for the first time is the new Lightning connector. The company introduced this in all its latest devices including the 4th gen iPad and the iPhone 5. The iPad mini also features a 16.3Wh lithium-polymer battery built in, which can deliver a claimed usage of up to 10 hours when either surfing the web on Wi-Fi or watching movies.

Coming to the screen, the device sports a 7.9-inch LED-backlit, multi-touch IPS display panel which is capable of spewing out images and video at a resolution of 1024 x 768p. Oh, and there’s also an oleo-phobic coating which doesn’t stain with the oil from greasy fingertips.
Besides the main camera, a less powerful 1.2MP webcam is found on the front of the device. It can capture video in 720p and facilitates FaceTime HD video calling. It also features face detection and backside illumination and supports photo and video geo-tagging.

The Wi-Fi version of the Apple iPad mini is available in India at a price of Rs. 21,900 for the 16GB version, Rs. 27,900 for the 32GB version and Rs. 33,900 for the 64GB model. The Wi-Fi + Cellular variant can be purchased in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities which will sell at Rs. 29,900, Rs. 35,900 and Rs. 41,900, respectively.
